1. Use lists – Write articles with lists - People love to look over lists. Such as “Three things every _____ owner should know” or “5 things never to do when ________”.
2. Hot Subjects – Write about latest hot topics that are related to your industry. Keep abreast of what is going on in your industry with Yahoo and google alerts. Subscribe to Google alerts at Google.com/alerts
3. Break News - If ever possible break news in your industry. The blog that breaks news gets instant notoriety and a lot of particular attention. Pick up trade magazines in your sector and read white papers to keep updated or breaking news.
4. Do not write about your children, house animals or boyfriend – I am confident your cat is cute, and your children are charming and funny … but the truth is nobody cares … we all have kids, cats and dogs. It is just not that thrilling.
5. Tag your articles – Add key words to your posts in the tag field when composing your articles. Also add key words to your article titles.
6. Include trackbacks - When composing your articles or blog posts include trackbacks to similar articles or blog posts in your market. Similar to blogcomments with a trackback you are leaving a link back to your article on some other blog, delivering you free traffic and back links.

8. Submit your rss feed – Submit your blog’s rss feed to all of the major rss web directories like feedage.com, feedzilla.com, syndic8.com
9. Bookmark your posts – Bookmark your blog site posts at key bookmarking sites such as digg.com, propeller, reddit, stumbleupon, yahoo buzz and del.icio.us.com
10. Post on weekdays – The majority of blog visitors are women and men with jobs, they tend to visit their favourite blogs at work, on their mobile devices or on their breaks from work … blog post on weekdays during work hours and your posts will get more attention and generate traffic to your blog.
